“Honja” is the Korean Work For Alone

My online marketing space if full of struggling marketers. I hear them all the time. They complain to me about how they are spinning their wheels but not going anywhere. I ask the who they are partnered with, who their mentors are. They almost always tell me that they work alone.

Succeeding in any endeavor without the guidance of capable teachers is hard enough, let alone one that is as complicated as online marketing. Marketing requires mastery over a complex skill set – understanding the psychology of human desire and knowing how to present messages that appeal to that desire. When you add in the online part of the equation, your combining marketing skills with technical skills.

This is not to say that the task is insurmountable. It takes a little bit of time and a lot of elbow grease. Some people are auto-didacts who can teach themselves just about anything. Most of us need good teachers.

Marketers who are new to the game should seek out teachers who are willing to spend a bit of time to help them. I do network marketing online so team building is the name of the game. The key is to find a sponsor that is committed to training their downline.

If you’re in affiliate marketing it’s good seek out companies/communities that are interested in offering their affiliates ongoing and intensive strategic training.

Finally, go on meetup.com and attend some online marketing meetup groups in your local area. Meetups are great places to connect with mentors, colleagues and even potential prospects for your business.
